Lucia is revealed to be one of the demons created by Arius but was discarded for being a "defect". Worse, Mundus' cruel treatment of his minion Trish causes her to pull a Heel≯ace Turn and lend her power to Dante in his climactic battle with the villain. That demon turns out to be Mundus, the ruler of the demon world who makes the foolish mistake of luring Dante to his island in an attempt to kill him.

Devil May Cry: One of the reasons Dante became a demon hunter was to eventually find and kill the demon that killed his mother. He is also the first villain since Vergil in 3 to defeat Dante in their first battle which isn't surprising given he is Vergil's demonic half made flesh. Urizen from Devil May Cry 5 is the first full-blooded demon main antagonist since Mundus from the first game.Unlike, Arius and Arkham who sought out demonic power for more obviously selfish ends, Sanctus's main goal is the extermination of demons plaguing the human world, but it becomes more and more clear that he has allowed all the power he has attained to go to his head and is willing to harm even innocent humans for his goals. Sanctus in Devil May Cry 4 is introduced as the seemingly benevolent head of the Order of the Sword, but is also revealed to be coveting demon powers himself.Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening features a Big Bad Duumvirate consisting of the half-devil Vergil who is Dante's brother and the human Arkham who seeks to claim the power of Sparda to become a powerful demon himself. While Mundus relied mainly on long-ranged attacks, Argosax in its final form focused on closing the distance through teleportation. Argosax starts out as a weird amalgamation of previous bosses before it's true form is revealed to be that of a fiery angelic creature. The second way they differ is the evolution of their forms during the final battle Mundus starts out with angelic form that gives way to a hideous Blob Monster form. Firstly, while Mundus is depicted as male, Argosax is Otherwordly And Sexually Ambiguous. Argosax differs from Mundus in three ways. Argosax is a demon lord who was defeated by Sparda, similar to Mundus. While Mundus was the most powerful demon in the demon world, Arius is a human who relies on magic, technology and wealth to be a threat.Devil May Cry 2 features two villains, Arius and Argosax who serve as the Final Boss for Lucia and Dante, respectively. He is portrayed as a malevolent and terrifying force whose presence is felt throughout the game even when he isn't in the same room with you. The villain of the first game is Mundus, the ruler of the demon world. For example, defeating Jokatgulm in 2 earns you the "No Joke" achievement Jokatgulm -> "No Joke". Sometimes, the puns require you to think for a while in order to understand their wordplay. The Achievements and Trophies in the HD Collection are mostly named from quote excerpts, references, or hilarious puns that refer to their specific objective in a way.Hilarity ensues when you get ranks like "ASSSSS" or when the screen spells out short words like "BAD", "DAD", "SAD", "ABS", "SASS", and so on. This also applies to the "Total Results" screen that summarizes the final ranks you achieved in all missions. Even if the number of criteria varies depending on the game, it's possible for the screen to spell out words or acronyms (when the individual results are read from top-to-bottom, followed the final mission rank at the side) using the letters A,B,C,D and S.

The end-result screen for each mission grades how well you perform based on certain criteria and it follows the D-S letter grading system just like the Style Ranks.

It's both funnier and more awesome for Vergil than the other playable characters since he doesn't move while firing his Summoned Swords/Mirage Blades, he can kill demons while standing completely still and retaining his stoic expression, yet the camera makes all of it look like a badass moment just like any other finishing attack.
